Pernille Harbo Caspersen founded RUM in 2007 and works as an art advisor, e.g. for Arkitema, Skejby Fertility Clinic, and the PEB Foundation.

Pernille HC has been the initiator and independent curator of several large-scale projects:

With a background in International Studies and Art History, she has had a particular focus on cross-disciplinary projects. This earned her a place on the steering committee for Arts & Globalization, represented at the 57th Venice Biennale.
In 2016, she was initiator and co-organizer of Freedom, Speech & Concert at the National Museum of Denmark – a platform aimed at debating the meaning and value of cultural diversity.

In 2019, she curated the exhibition I do art, ergo I am at Marienlyst Castle, featuring 80 works by Art Brut artist Hans Sandberg. The exhibition carried an underlying ambition to support the de-stigmatization of mental illness. It was accompanied by a parallel program of workshops for vulnerable groups and the symposium Can Art Contribute to Public Health (80 participants), exploring the cross-sectoral field between culture and mental health.

Her most recent initiative took place in April 2025 in collaboration with the Danish Embassy in Vietnam under the headline 2025 P4G Hanoi Summit – Synthetic Bloom: The Intersection of Art, Technology & Climate. As a cross-sectoral initiative, several AR sculptures by acclaimed artist Ida Kvetny were exhibited in the Green Growth and press areas of the P4G Summit, inviting audiences to explore the individual’s relationship with technology. The project also facilitated international exchange through an event at the Danish Embassy entitled How to Tell a Powerful Story at Museums: Curating, Digital Art, and Audience Engagement with 30 art professionals in Hanoi, reflecting on how art can open new perspectives.

Pernille HC also has board experience (2017–2020) as former chairperson of Designers Without Borders, a Danish not-for-profit and politically independent organization working to create social development for teenage girls in South Africa through education and creative programs.

Since 2020, she has been chairperson of Copenhagen Chamber Performance (founded in 2011), with performances at venues such as Teater Republique and Mungo Park.

»Our core vision is to provide relevant, fine art which challenge our senses while laying fertile ground for debate, innovation, and communication amongst people«.
